Heuriger

In order to welcome you into our country we thought we’d invite you to do what Austrians do best – sit, talk and enjoy some good Austrian beverages! Have you ever had a “Spritzer”? Or a “Most”? Here is your chance to try those ‘exotic’ drinks.

 And after 1 or 2 glasses, you’ll surely notice how awesome everybody there is! Other exchange students to meet, EBN Team members to pelt with questions….what else do you need? Food! Have a delicious meal eating specialities like “Surbraten”, “Blunzn” or a Wiener Schnitzel – Austrian food is delicious and can be interesting.

 But what exactly is that place? A so-called “Heuriger” (sometimes located right next to a grapefield) is a traditional (this one in particular was founded 1787!) wine-tavern in which wine growers serve their own wine. It’s also very cliché Austrian – wooden furniture everywhere!

So come, get to know something about the new country you’re in, be part of its history, enjoy yourself, consume delicious things and meet your companions of your exchange! 

Please don’t forget that for restaurants the 3G rule applies. This means you need to bring proof of your vaccination, a valid test, or proof that you have recently recovered from Covid.
